Do you practice religion?

I don’t like answering this question because I don’t think people should be judged on their religion or lack of a religion.

Here’s a more detailed look at the concept of religion in the Bible:

1. Belief and Worship: Religion in the Bible involves belief in God and His perfections, as well as worship and obedience to His commands. This includes acknowledging God’s revelation and the expectation of rewards and punishments.

I find this concept, condescending and insulting.

I have a friend who lives in Nicaragua. Her life is very simple and she works “religiously” to provide for her family. She has an advanced degree, and she teaches languages at the local college.

My Spanish isn’t great and her English isn’t perfect either but when I ask her about religion, we have nice discussions.

Her answer to me is usually like this.

Mark, esto es todo lo que tenemos

Mark this is all we have.

I’ve been a member of churches throughout my life of different denominations, and I do enjoy the give-and-take in the Unitarian fellowship. I have had deep conversations with the ministers of each church and they seem to appreciate my opinions and insight.

However

I do practice the golden rule. I treat all living things like I expect to be treated. That’s not only people that’s nature and animals.

Nature is us and that’s how we treat ourselves.

So the answer your question.

I don’t know.

I get about ten minutes to write in the morning and I sometimes don’t think it all the ways through. I respect religion

    and fear it as well.

My daughter is Muslim and has taught me so much about the faith. Yet, I still have my own reservations.

Faith is something deep down in our being. There is no faking it.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
