A passive aggressive tribute to the spaghetti sandwich.
I am in search of a place that offers decent prompts. WordPress prompts are a bit lame. I did dig this up somewhere
School Daze. Your character’s child comes home with a detention slip to sign, but your character isn’t angry. What’s the reason that they aren’t angry with their child for getting into trouble at school?
This happened to my mother as I came home from school telling my parents I was suspended from the cafeteria for an entire week.
Naturally I was afraid to tell my parents.
The Crime
We were warned and I did not listen. Mr. Miller informed the cafeteria we were not to make spaghetti sandwiches. I loved both spaghetti and the Italian bread the cafeteria served. The spaghetti sandwich took it to the next level. I have no memory how he found out I was making the clandestine delicacy, but he did. I remember him handing me a note and telling me to give it to my parents informing them I would be eating from home the next week.
At that point I was a pretty good kid and didn’t have the acuity to think Mr. Miller was an idiot.
The Long Walk Home
I carried that note all the way home. It was a late February day, and the spring thaw had just started. We used to ride ice sheets home when the ice broke up.
My parents were upstirs arguing about something, so I simply threw the note in the fireplace.
And never mentioned it again.
Chaos Out of Control
That weekend went by quickly and I kept putting off telling my parents and I knew I should come clean soon.
My Mom Sensed something was wrong
She looked at me and asked me if something was wrong. I don’t remember saying anything as she walked over to me and started looking at my stomach and my arms.
She took my temperature.
And informed me I had chicken pox.
I had to miss the next week of school.
Mr. Miller was none the wiser.

I would love to hear you opinion as well
