Describe a risk you took that you do not regret.

Most all we do in life is a risk and we are consciously or subconsciously, weighing the risk versus the rewards.

Our Daughter

When she got out of college, she started doing online dating. Seattle is a big city, and it certainly has a reputation of being hard to find a friend. She set up a date with a young man she met on a dating app. We all know the equation with dating apps people are skinnier, healthier smarter online than they are when you actually meet them.

The Date

They were to meet at a Starbucks outside of Seattle. Our daughter is not the best with directions. She certainly wasn’t back then as Seattle was kind of new to her. To make a long story short, she drove around for an hour or so, and could not find the Starbucks in Bellevue. It may have been in Capitol Hill. She ended up driving home and she had to message the guy admitting that she just couldn’t find the restaurant. Or she could’ve just moved on.

The Risk

In the modern world of online dating, many people would simply move on. She sent a message to her date, and her date was understanding and said let’s meet another day.

Those two will be here tomorrow with their two kids. I honestly don’t know a couple that gets along better. Having a little patience and understanding goes a long way.

I remember going in this little coffee shop and speaking Spanish. It was risky, but well worth it.

Taking one foot out of the bed, each morning is the risk.

Lovely story, especially since it’s true. 🙂

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
