What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

I was thinking about that this morning as nothing was going smoothly. Usually my wife does the morning routine and I do the evening, but she’s in Japan.

I get up first thing in the morning and feed the cats. They are now running around like rhinos. This morning I put coffee. Our coffee maker is weird. You have to have the coffee pot directly over the heating element for it to work.I didn’t this morning. Then I head downstairs and feed the dog and let her out in the yard. It’s a pretty morning today.

I usually do 20 minutes of German in the morning. On most mornings, I write something as well. Then I start working. I will probably eat breakfast in another 20 minutes.

I think today it will be steal cut out oats.

I usually get in the office an hour before everybody else. So I start so slowly.

Today I want to go back to bed.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time.
