Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

Hopefully we are life long learners and savor learning every step of the way. I had a history teacher that taught me how to tell a story, a math teacher who stirred my interest, a reader who cleaned up my thesis, and a girl I knew in grad school who slipped an REM cassette tape in my pocket.

There was a gal I sat next to in a few classes who could draw almost anything. She taught me doing art is cool. The play director who accepted me even though I was an athlete.

There was a friend named Lou who was very conservative at the time. We discussed politics for hours.

But the biggest teacher in my life is failure. Give me a chance to fail and I will learn from the experience.

    Great thought.
Yes, failure is perhaps the biggest teacher.

I like this comment. We don’t always succeed in what we try to do. It is horrible to fail, but we get up, brush off, and go on with life.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
