What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Hey you with the not yet fully developed brain.

Don’t worry about rejection, as rejection will be a better part of your waking life. Ask that girl who sits next to you out on a date.

Embrace that you are different, that is your gift.

And most importantly, while being eighteen, if your adult version of yourself starts giving you advice, you have to accept that you are taking part in some weird writing prompt years into the future.

In so many words, trust yourself.

Do some art.

Run some marathons.

Learn a language

Travel

Learn to code.

Buy a journal and write in it everyday.

And that older version of your self who just gave you advice. Make him a cup of tea.

With milk and sugar.

And return your shopping carts. You aren’t the center of the Universe.

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
