Our grandson and I went on an Adventure the other day, it was a simple walk in this North Seattle neighborhood.

We made it into a scavenger hunt of sorts trying to find these items.

  • An Airplane
  • A Frog (we are deep into winter)
  • Somebody Walking a Dog
  • A puddle
  • A large leaf
  • And he added a port a potty

I can’t exactly remember the fourth and fifth item but they were close. We both carried big branches wielding them much would a divining rod. He had an ample supply of peanut butter crackers. His sister looked on quizzically.

He must of known this route quite well as there were numerous construction honey buckets en route . But where were we going to find a frog. The college down the road, has the tree frog as their mascot but the pickings were slim on this day. It was hovering above freezing.

And there they sat two blocks over, as somebody had porcelain frogs all over their yard. Arthur was non-plussed, He wanted to find more port-a-potties.

I am telling you, grandkids are great for the imagination. There is no such thing as a boring little walk.

Thank goodness there were frogs. You might still be out there. 😀

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
