I sometimes read a book and think how unlikely events actually happen all the time.

This happened to me this weekend. My good friend in Salt Lake City sent me a text about a wine, he and his wife purchased. The wine was from a winery called 1111. I know very little about wine. We share 1111 sightings all the time. That is a story for another day. We shared the story and had a good laugh.

The next day we took the kids over to Bainbridge Island . I have not been there since 1996. We took the Ferry and searched out playgrounds and Troll statues. We then headed downtown to get the kids some cookies and coffee for the adults.

Of course, I ran into a record store and I had to go in. It said it opened at 12 on Sundays. So I waited the hour to go in the store.

I walked out of onto the street and right next door was the very same 1111 Winery.

As an aside, the record store opened at 11. It was Saturday and thought it was Sunday. If you get to Bainbridge Island check it.

These kinds of stories are so wonderful. 🙂 Always think of Whitman:

Why should I wish to see God better than this day?
I see something of God each hour of the twenty-four, and each moment then,
In the faces of men and women I see God, and in my own face in the glass,
I find letters from God dropt in the street, and every one is sign’d by God’s name,
And I leave them where they are, for I know that wheresoe’er I go,
Others will punctually come for ever and ever.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
