What technology would you be better off without, why?

Can you imagine how amazing this world could be without the internal combustion engine. it would be pristine and naive. Unfortunately, dinosaurs died, and we burnt the remains for fuel.

Although, I can be an anti capitalist thinker, I still believe we are better off with the technologies we have. Cell phones have plenty of negatives and listing the negatives is a rudimentary exercise done many times before. Despite my skepticism, I think in all (most) cases the benefits out weigh the detriment.

That is until we factor in human nature, which we are pretty much stuck with.

I still remember a weird uncle who showed up on holidays. He would drone on how the new wash machines would be the death of him. In a way he was right. He waxed eloquently about the benefits of the ringer washer.

I am going to throw one word here where I believe I can be proven inexorably wrong.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
