About 12 years ago I broke my ankle while running. I leaned my crutches along the wall leading out of the kitchen. Cooper, our black lab, was walking out of kitchen and the crutches fell and hit him.

It freaked him out. He remained afraid of the crutch. We even had a song for the crutch.

Oh nein

Sung to the Tune of The Grinch Christmas theme song.

“You’re a mean one Mr. Crutch”

Soon he became afraid of the song without the crutch.

Where’s the crutch

My wife hurt her knee yesterday. I found the old set of crutches. Cooper wasn’t happy about it. I didn’t have the heart to sing the song.

Poor baby. This is why my dog is afraid of pants. As soon as I begin folding laundry, he hides, because I startled him shaking out a pair of pants when he was a puppy.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
