Tales from I5.

I generally consider riding in the car a complete waste of time. And in a sense it is, We make the trip up to Seattle on a monthly basis. The September trip is special for me.

I remember taking our middle daughter up to Seattle University this time of year. The beginning of school is a rebirth of sorts.

Well she is a parent now and we’re there to celebrate her oldest sons third birthday. That makes me a grandfather

This time of year the early blooming trees are starting to unfold their late season colors. The Nisqually basin is especially brilliant. We are not driving at night.

Another little game we play is betting on whether Taco Bell will get our order right. Taco Bell is about the only decent vegan option along the I5 corridor.

It is also a time for my wife and I to spend alone. We talk if we need to but we usually read a book together, this month’s book is a little different.

And here it is. If anybody has read it please let me know.

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
