I barely made it to the airport but once on the plane it all went rather smoothly. I went to visit my daughter in the Maldives. The only place that was truly remote and different was Dubai.

I don’t feel like I have gone all that far, even if I’m on an airplane for 19 hours when I’m still speaking English. I participated in a Soccer match with a bunch of the locals. They were really good and it was quite the experience.

On the return trip, heading back to Seattle , everybody looked out the north side of the airplane and we were lucky to get a nice view of the northern lights flying over Greenland.

A trip to Central Mexico seems so much further. It feels so much further when I have to use my third grade Spanish. It feels so much more remote and authentic. I truly believe if everybody got out of their comfort zone, there would be a lot less anxiety about people from other cultures. This is especially true people in the United States.

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
