It’s Opening Day

When Summer, in spirit, gives way to Autumn. It is the opening day of fixtures in the Premier League Soccer.

I grew up with typical American sports, that being baseball and football. As a functioning adult, I have graduated to soccer. I was the first convert in our family. My Dad in his Berks county stubbornness never adapted. He preferred the golf channel.

Still, somewhere along the line he started texting me the results of Liverpool matches. It was a nice connection we had. Why Liverpool, I can only surmise it was because he liked Liver and onions.

Still he texted me the scores. So today I will do his duty and pass on that Liverpool won two nil today.

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
