Was in my fifth grade class and she mesmerized me. I had no idea what was happening or even why it was happening. She wore cute short dresses even in the winter time. I bought her a gift for Christmas. I believe it was a fancy writing pen.

I found out later, she lived across the street from my grandparents. I never ventured over. I didn’t know what to say or do. It was clumsy.
