Do you practice religion?

I religiously eschew religion. I met some of my favorite people in life through a church. And one of my favorite ministers we had dinner together occasionally. I asked him one day if he thought there was a heaven or a hell. His response to me was that heaven was a just reward offered by those in power. Those in power could defer that gratification to somebody else’s ledger.

I asked him what is god. His response was “did you ever hear a piece of music that was so beautiful it moved you to tears.”

“Of course.”

That is God

I am in awe of those with deep faith. I am not one of them, until I am so moved.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
