Road Less Taken

Daily writing prompt
What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?

I would like to believe we’re all doing things to make improvements in our lives. In my spare time I am learning German, I paint, I exercise, and I write.

Whatever we choose to do is an aside. The thing I am working on is to stop putting capitalist’s measures on what should be folly. Who cares if you have a 400-day streak on Duo Lingo. I want to take my time and learn the language.

I have not had a short story published in the last 5 months. By measures of capitalism, I am deemed unsuccessful. We need to enjoy the journey. I enjoy creating the stories and reading them later.

The urge to produce, produce, produce is ingrained in our philosophy. Today, I cringe to hear terms such as “I Got a Case of the Mondays’.

I don’t want to be shaped by capitalism.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
