Who Reads Directions?

Daily writing prompt
What gives you direction in life?

That is an excellent question and one worth exploring. There are certain directions that are not negotiable. We have motivation as parents, grandparents, partners, sons and daughters. I am not religious at all yet still abide by the principle of treating people as you expected to be treated, only a little better. And treat yourself that way.

I was once told that there was no way I could go from being an accountant to being a computer programmer. Running a marathon seemed like an impossible task. I don’t type well yet still I write. I don’t paint well yet I do art daily.

In the, possibly misquoted, words of Peter Schickele. “If it feels good, it is good.” He said that about music and music is a powerful guiding force. So i will stick with the comparison.

I can’t explain why I try to learn foreign languages. Life doesn’t always make sense and sometimes I don’t have the skill set to make sense of it.

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
