THEREARL ОТТО GOTZ

käud, 1958 painting technique on canvas

K.O. Götz’s painting process is divided into three stages: The starting point is the meditation of a pictorial scheme, which is “written down” with a brush within seconds. This is followed by a second writing down with the squeegee and a third intervention with the empty brush.

Between the steps there is “control of what has happened, meditation of what is to come” and at the end “recognition or erasure”.

The artist sometimes prepared his paintings mentally with the help of sketches or used them to study the composition afterwards.

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
