In Reflection

Esteemed Professor ######

I write this letter in great appreciation and I hope you are doing well and find this note in the proper light. I remember deciding to get an MBA at William and Mary because it was the logical choice to make. I didn’t want to work in retail any more. What do we know at the age of twenty four?

To this day I find Accounting and Finance a complete bore. However, in grad school I did come to love marketing. I did a project in your class, many years ago and to be quite honest the work I turned in was beyond my skill set. I laid out an entire marketing plan with all the channels of distribution, and all the Ps in the marketing. If I remember it was Product, Place, Promotion and possibly Price. I never did much marketing because I didn’t like to sell.

Well the product I pitched was no alcohol beer. You gave me an outstanding review and grade as well with the disclaimer, nobody will ever buy non alcohol beer.

Today I was standing in a a store in Mainz Germany and the non alcoholic beer choices outnumbered the traditional beer. They even had no alcoholic Tequila. Even I would agree that it would never sell. But it does, and so does the alcohol free beer.

So you gave in A in the project so I am not asking you to change my grade. Maybe you could ask the people at Paul’s Deli to name a sandwich after me.

Cheers

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
