I remember a surreal conversation I had with my mother. She got super annoyed when I said any thing negative (defensive) about life in Pennsylvania. Eventually the conversation came around to things I don’t like about Pennsylvania.
I said I get frustrated how people can be closed minded around some issues. She knew the issues I was referring.
She listened, with earnest, and thought for awhile. She hesitated in response and said to me that I am very close minded as well.
I was intrigued, and wanted to hear the answer. Maybe I am close minded, certainly on issue of her choosing.
She told me that I am close minded because I will not go to NASCAR races.
I honestly don’t recall anything else about this conversation.
His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.
A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
